Day of Discovery 2

April 4, 2009 Tech Integration with Discovery Education

expected outcome: Teachers will learn learn how to integrate Google Apps, movie making and advanced powerpoint into their instruction.  Teachers will leave with a draft of an integrated unit.

     Presented by Discovery Education 

Teachers will receive a stipend for attendance.

 

Six trainers from Discovery Ed will conduct PD 

Location: TTC on Jackson Ave.

  •  Time: 8:30 - 3:30
  •  Topics:  3 hour session - Google Application and content integration
  •  1.5 hour session - Taking powerpoint to the next level
  •  1.5 hours session - Integrating movie making into instruction

12:30 - 3:30 Session

Week of April 6-9 - Social bookmarking and Wikis- Vance Middle

Teachers will be introduced to Wikis and be shown how to access course content in the techintegrationproject wiki. 

Teachers will learn how to create a Delicious account and how to tag / save / share bookmarks.

Week of April 12 & April 19 - work with teachers on finalizing projects for Spring Student Exhibitions

expected outcome: high quality exhibitions utilizing technology
